The wind makes lets us leave landlocked life and its worries in our wake.
Day trips and multi-day trips, ask for the possibilities.
Sailing with the Chateauroux sailing as it’s meant to be: sporty and with a team. The skipper and his mate invite their guests to hoist the sails, stand at the helm, navigate and help with gybing. By following the experienced skipper’s instructions and cooperating with each other, we get to know the ship and each other better. The wind makes lets us leave landlocked life and its worries in our wake. The suitability for multi-day trips makes the Chateauroux an ideal ship for groups of friends, families, businesses or school groups.
After its construction in 1908, the sailing two-mast klipperaak Chateauroux earned her keep by bringing potatoes, maize and beans to their destinations. She was converted from cargo ship to passenger accommodationin 1986. The brown sails and original skipper’s deckhouse lend her an authentic character. The saloon, furnished with lots of wood and brass, offers plenty of room for a lovely dinner; the sheltered, spacious seating area on deck is a wonderful place for drinks or a barbecue on a balmy evening. The forecastle holds three 4-person cabins and seven double cabins. Each cabin has a washbasin, and duvets and linen can be rented. Two showers and three toilets are also on board. The spacious open kitchen is the ideal place to jointly prepare meals, but former cook Arse can also prepare a delicious meal for your group.
Skipper Arse Staal is crazy about sailing. Sailing trips can never be long or far enough to him. Dropping the anchor to go for a swim, a delicious barbecue on board or lounging in the beanbags or the jib-net: Arse is out to please everyone. He deliberately chooses not to offer more luxury or extensive catering on board: with Arse it is all about the sailing. The ship’s dog always comes along to enjoy the ride!
